Hey guys! I’ve been gone for a while but I’m so glad to be back and share what I’m up to. I was recently fortunate enough to tag along with a journalist friend to one day of Miami Fashion Week.
Given that I was going to a fashion show, I definitely had to step my #OOTD game up. When I bought my outfit in spring, jumpsuits were absolutely on trend. I wanted to wear something trendy yet a little different. Rather than the extremely popular blue and white stripes fad, I opted for this bold geometric print. I wouldn’t normally wear an outfit that fits the way this does- with its bell bottom pant legs falling awkwardly above my ankles- but I actually liked the way it turned out.
Arriving at the fashion show was something out of a TV Hollywood depiction. Young women like myself struck poses by every Instagrammable backdrop available while boyfriends, friends, and professionals snapped photos. Dresses, skirts, and matching sets in tasteful patterns adorned gorgeous girls surrounding me as I made my way through the crowd.
The show itself was exactly as I imagined it would be. Tall models gracefully strut down the runway to stop and pose for the cameras at the end of their paths, then turn on their heels to go back. I happened to visit on the day of Agatha Ruiz de la Prada’s show. Each girl wore a headband with a 3D red heart to go with her bright 60’s inspired outfit.
I was equally entertained watching the crowd. Influencers and fans alike held up their iPhones to capture a few seconds of magic, perhaps for Snapchat or a blog. Overall, I had an incredible experience feeling like part of the fashion world for a night. Check out this quick video of the night:
