You’ve earned the chance to cut yourself some slack, but you definitely want to stay on top of your grades for the final report that schools receive over the summer.
- Beef Up Your Resume- Now that college applications are out of the way, the next step will eventually be an internship or job! It’s the perfect time to get a part-time job, or take a class, or do something that will better prepare you for your major and the “real world”(casually wondering what world adults think we’re in if not the “real” one). Honestly, I enjoyed getting experience by working a job in high school and it helped with my time management. Having money was pretty great too. You can make a little extra cash to take with you to college, add some work experience to your resume, and keep your mind off of things!
- Take A Social Media Break- I realized as all of the Early Decisions were coming out, a lot of my friends couldn’t take the pressure. Constantly refreshing their emails waiting for the letter saying “your decision will be available on this date” as their Snapchats were flooded with videos of their classmates crying tears of joy in front of electronic acceptances. Your time will come, I swear. It’s great to be happy for your friends but fixating on decisions can be so toxic. Put your phone down, and stop hitting refresh!
- YOLO- (Hope you enjoyed this tacky headline.) At the end of the day, Drake was right. You only live once, yada yada. Senior year will never happen again, so whether you’re stressed out about upcoming decisions or outrageously tired of coming to school, it’s time to enjoy being young! I have no idea what college will bring (and I’m honestly not ready to think about that too much yet), but we should be spending time with our friends and family while we still have the time.
