Hi loves! As summer is drawing to a close (and summer break is sadly becoming a distant memory), now is the perfect time to share my summer beauty favorites with you all. My makeup skills aren’t advanced enough to use different products and colors for different seasons, but I did receive a ton of free items from Ulta at Her Conference that I’m slowly trying out.
First up is this Vice lipstick from Urban Decay. I was really hesitant to try this one out because it’s the opposite of my usual lipsticks: I like lipsticks that are dark, matte, and in liquid form. That said, I actually really like how it turned out. Unfortunately, I don’t know which color it is, but this one from the sheer collection. I was definitely surprised by how long it lasted and it was so easy to apply based on how glossy it is. Since it’s so different from my other ones, I’ve ended up wearing it pretty often to switch up my look.
I also received the It Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing mascara in my Ulta swag bag. I never even thought I’d cheat on my usual Lancome Drama mascara but I’m obsessed. My eyelashes look pretty nonexistent makeup-free, but this mascara honestly makes them look so much longer and thicker. Putting on this mascara makes me feel like I looked so much more awake and just put together.
It’s super dumb that I just started doing this, but I’m out of makeup remover and I’ve been using coconut oil instead. Obviously I’d heard of using it but I didn’t realize it works better than actual makeup remover! It’s less expensive and a million times healthier because it’s natural. The only drawback is getting oil into your eye, but it’s not that bad. Overall, I’m so so happy with it. I use coconut oil for like 5000 other beauty processes so it eliminates one more product from my shopping list. I’m definitely using it from now on. The one I’m using right now is from a local Indian convenience store. This is my favorite one, mostly because it comes in liquid form, which makes it so much easier to apply. I just throw it on a cotton pad like normal, and voila! Instantly fresh-faced again.
Honorable Mention:
The Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in theory has everything I want in a lipstick in theory. I love how deep the purple is, which is actually the only reason it is on this list. What I didn’t like is how messy the application is. Putting it on feels like painting your nails, where it’s very unforgiving if you apply an extra layer in one spot. I always have to go back in with concealer to fix around the edges when I use it. Otherwise, color: 10/10.
These are basically my (new) beauty favorites from over the summer. I barely switch up my routine, so it’s a big deal when I do. Speaking of switching up your beauty routine, if anyone is looking for a new facial cleanser, or any product for that matter, you should head over to reviews.com.
