Us teens tend to love our sleep but at what costs? Between schoolwork and extracurricular activities and other obligations, nowadays it seems like we’re forced to choose between productivity and sleep. Personally, I know my limits. After a certain amount of time, my eyelids get heavy and I realize it’s not worth struggling to stay up anymore. Others are the complete opposite and will settle for their two hours of sleep after proudly completing a number of assignments and study sessions. Often times we’ll come across tasks that even a sleep-lover like me will have to delay slumber for, but where should we really draw the line?
With AP exams starting this week and other finals rolling around, this is the perfect time to assess our current shut-eye situations. Rather than rounding off a number of study tips, I honestly found it much more important to emphasize sleep itself. Being well-rested this close to exams is just as, if not more important than studying for the purpose of retaining information. Sure looking over the material a couple times last minute is helpful but cramming the night before just to fall asleep during the exam is crazy!
Honestly, time management is key. If you have a few days to plan out which sections you’ll review with extra time allotted for sleep than you usually get, you’ll be in good mental and physical shape for exams. Ultimately, you all have what it takes to make it through this exam season 🙂
