The last month has gone by so quickly that there was hardly time to get attached to new products. Regardless here are a couple of my favorite things from the past month.
TV Show- Happy Endings
This is another Hulu show (sorry again to Netflix-only subscribers) originally aired on ABC. The show focuses around how a friend group operates after one of the girls leaves one of the guys at the altar. It’s sort of like Friends with the whole premise of a friend group getting into various dilemmas and hilarious situations. It’s an entertaining sitcom, nothing too special, but it does feature Adam Pally from The Mindy Project and Damon Wayans Jr. from New Girl.
Makeup
I actually have two makeup favorites this month, which is surprising for a cosmetic dummy like me. I happened to try the Too Faced Born This Way foundation and I actually loved it. This was recommended to me by a friend who works at Sephora. I’m not really into face makeup, so I was a little skeptical about the medium to full coverage but I didn’t feel like I was drowning in it. My skin tone is a little difficult to match up in but the Honey color fits me perfectly. I only had a sample of it but I just might buy it for my birthday.
Along the same lines, I also love my elf baked highlighter. It is on the drugstore quality side so it requires a little heavier of an application but in my opinion it yields the same result as other highlighters for the same price.
Beauty
I’m not sure what to call this category. Maybe beauty others? Skin care? Anyway, as you can tell from my makeup favorites I’ve been really into my skin recently. I started regularly making a tamarind face mask and toner, and they’ve made my skin so much smoother and brighter. I actually linked the Instagram video tutorial by Farah D in my Valentine’s Day post. If you feel that your skin looks bumpy or dull I would definitely recommend trying it because I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on my skin since using the mask a couple times and adding the toner to my regimen.
Songs
If you haven’t already heard, Drake’s new album/playlist More Life was released March 18th. I’m actually not into too many of the songs, at least not yet, but I love love love Blem. It has a fun beat and it’s honestly my “I’m gonna tell you off” mood.
Even moreso, I’ve played Location by Khalid at least three times a day for the past month. I guess you could call it my current “in my feelings song”. I love the irony behind texting your location to put away technology and connect. The song is so relevant to today’s society and I just think it’s genius. The remix is pretty decent as well: Lil Wayne’s verse takes a more sexual tone per usual which I didn’t really care for in context of the song though I did appreciate his acknowledgement that “I know your ex to blame for your cold nature”. Kehlani’s verse was cute and down to earth but I still like the original better.
