Alex Aiono and William Singe covers and songs are blessings. (If you don’t know who they are, what are you doing? Press play below.) That’s why when my friend told me about their tour making its way to SOFLO, I had to get tickets immediately.
Fast forward a couple weeks, 2:45 pm the day of the concert. Start time: 6:30. Me being the very prepared person I am, I had no idea what I was going to wear to the concert. Jeans and a cute top are my concert go-tos: it can get pretty hot being around a ton of people closed in, so short or n
o sleeves work best, and the right pair of jeans can keep an outfit comfortable but just dressed enough.
My first instinct was to reach for my halter top bodysuit. In theory it would keep me cool, and it wasn’t too boring. However, I was bent on wearing my ripped jeans- the most interesting pair i own- and the colors looked awful together. Back to the drawing board.
My next option was a crop top from Pacsun. No sleeves? Check. Cute lace detailing? Check. (Full disclosure, I HATED the top when I first bought it, but it grew on me.) By this time it was 3, and this outfit would have to do.
For makeup, I created a very subtle smokey eye look using my Naked 3 palette. I opted for a simpler eyeliner application as well to match a casual face to my casual makeup. As you’ll come to realize, I have very little makeup talent anyway. I twisted my hair back in two parts on top and used a rubber band to keep them together. I wanted to keep my hair out of my face for the night but add a twist on the traditional half up half down.
Confession, I have a total accessory aversion. I practically have to be forced to wear jewelry. Totally unusual for a fashion blogger, I know. I did however, convince myself to wear a choker for the occasion. Those are easy enough.
The concert itself was absolutely amazing. Alex opened with several familiar songs he’s covered on YouTube and his new single “Work the Middle”. Will came out next, the main event, with a few covers and his song “Rush”. They performed a few songs together as well including their cover mashups from YouTube as well. Their chemistry onstage is awesome and playful and they’re great at engaging an audience. Here’s a video of them together (with the least screaming I could find)
