Hey guys! This post is a little different. I’m getting around to my Sunday upload a bit later than I usually do but I’m glad for it. I have kinda discussed this before but I feel like it’s something I should reiterate because it’s so important. I was watching Khalid’s Location video earlier and it kinda disturbed me. The girl in the video sent Khalid her location and up and dipped. I was taken aback. In my mind, the video should’ve ended there because there was no way I would’ve tried to meet up with her again after she had stood me up (at least that’s what I’d convinced myself). No matter who you are, you should NOT have to deal with being treated poorly. Not by anyone really, but I’m focusing on someone that you’re into. No judgment no matter what you’re looking for, whether it be a significant other, or just a friend, or even going out occasionally and having fun! But it really isn’t fair to be treated with unequal regards.
In other words, don’t invest in someone who basically has you on a back burner, because you deserve so much more than that. I was recently really into someone out of the ordinary- a jerk, but not one you’d expect- and I had a friend accidentally enlighten me. He made fun of how the guy interacts with lots of girls and commented that he knew I would be the last to fall for his BS. Little did my friend know, I actually had. Or maybe he did and used reverse psychology. Regardless, it opened my eyes and made me realize that, hey, I don’t deserve to have someone just expect me to be around. Quite frankly, he looks totally desperado, and I look totally dumb sitting around watching.
It’s definitely easier said than done but realizing you don’t need that person’s approval and attention is so liberating. Your happiness doesn’t depend on them. Bonus: if you’re still genuinely interested in the person it’s totally fine, as long as their actions don’t weigh you down. Making yourself a little less available to the person, if they’re into you at all, will probably grab their attention anyway and make them wonder. I just thought I’d share my mini lesson- received and relayed to you guys.
