Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and if you’re anything like me, you’ve already made vague plans for a five-course meal at a table for one. Of course, “table for one” here translates to “the comforts of one’s own bed” and a five-course meal may or may not involve frequenting the kitchen for snacks whenever you can bear to pause your show on Netflix.
From a young age we are trained that relationships are something to aspire to, an aspect that makes our lives complete. I lived this way for a couple years (middle school struggles!) and was often unhappy with myself as a result. There’s nothing wrong with growing alongside a partner and developing a relationship but there’s also nothing wrong with being single and using your time to become the best “you” you can be. Now I realize I’ve actually got the best Valentine’s date: myself.
In the spirit of self-love, here is an awesome plan for spending Valentine’s Day single:
Get Work Out of the Way
You didn’t think I’d forget about this one did you? Valentine’s Day is on a Tuesday this year (total bummer, I know), and first thing’s first to be able to take it easy the rest of the night. You can either plan to get your homework and other obligations out of the way ahead of time over the weekend or on Monday night, or plan to do it first thing when you get home on Tuesday.
Make Some Snacks

Have Some Quality Tub Time

Valentine’s Day (2010) is also a great watch. Sadly it’s not on Netflix but it’s definitely worth the purchase or rent.

Throw on a Mask
A great way to pamper yourself after your bath is by putting on a face mask. While you’re finishing your movie, treat your face to some TLC with this tamarind mask by Farah D.
